Summer lovin’, havin’ a blast. Summer lovin’ happened so fast….
We could just add in the month of August in all those memes as well.
We girls took about six weeks off of school work. We packed a good bit of nothingness into those days and weeks. J Matt is in his busy time of the year where he’s working about 20 hours a day during the cuttings and trying to catch up on things in the two weeks between cuttings.
(grass hay from the 140, that was custom baled)
Matt is starting into his third cutting this week. The next 25 days for him will be a blur. We girls will just keep plugging away and see him in the fields when we can.
But going back a little, we have had some fun.
Ruby has finally grown into her John Deere bike we got in Kansas about 4 years ago. Ruby has grown almost two inches from the end of May to the end of August.
Clara has gotten really confident on her balance bike and can zip around just about anywhere.
They ride bikes just about every evening. We take the bikes to different parts on the ranch or to their friend’s houses and they have a great time.
Clara was brave enough to get her face painted at the Fourth parade this year. Ruby was a wolf.
Matt got to join us for a little bit for the fourth. He rides his motorcycle just about every year to meet us. The girls were brave enough to both ride with him on the ranch’s driveway when we got back.
Ruby is VERY confident on the back of a bike. Clara is learning. Don’t worry. They went about 5 miles per hour on the ranch lane.
Ruby was ready to ride to the firework show in our little town that evening.
Everyone just camps out on the road. Two local ranches put on their own shows. A man in town, on the other side of the truck in the picture above, also does a big show. It’s a great time.
Moving on…
A watermelon from Georgia made its way all the way to Wyoming. It was probably in the top five watermelons I’ve ever had.
Lots of chair sleeping happens in the summer. Both of them can be found curled up in the chair in the evenings.
We’ve gone on a full moon hike. We hiked around and watched the full moon come up over the Big Horns.
We had a couple of visitors that did all kinds of fun things. Sleepovers, flying kites, hikes, fishing, playing, making, and all kinds of other fun was on the agenda.
Matt got to take us on a drive on the northern most part of the Big Horns.
But, schoolwork quickly came back around. We are still enjoying the longer days but we now have a morning of schoolwork before we enjoy the rest of the day.
Summer lovin’, happened so fast……
